Frequently Asked Questions

  • If you’re wondering, it’s worth checking in. Children may benefit from therapy if they are difficult to understand, have limited words or vocabulary, struggle to follow directions, become frustrated when communicating, have feeding challenges, or need support with social interaction or regulation

  • I work with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-age children. Therapy is personalized to meet your child where they are developmentally, while supporting meaningful progress at home, in school, and in everyday life.

  • The first session is an evaluation designed to help me get to know your child, understand your concerns, and identify your child’s strengths and areas for growth. We’ll talk through your goals, complete an assessment, and discuss clear next steps.

  • Sessions are 45 minutes long and are designed to feel playful, engaging, and comfortable for your child while targeting meaningful therapy goals. I use motivating, developmentally appropriate activities to help your child learn and practice new skills in a natural way. Each session also includes 15 minutes for parent/caregiver communication, including a detailed session note, time for questions, and home practice recommendations when appropriate.

  • Progress looks different for every child. Some children show changes quickly, while others need more time and consistent support. I’ll work with you to set clear goals, monitor progress, and provide practical strategies to support your child between sessions.

  • Yes. You know your child best, and parent involvement is a key part of meaningful progress. I provide practical, realistic strategies you can use at home to support your child’s communication, feeding, regulation, and daily routines.

  • Flexible scheduling options are available based on your child’s needs and your family’s routine, including in-home, school/preschool, and virtual sessions. I’ll work with you to find the best fit.

  • I am not currently in-network with insurance providers. However, I can provide a superbill, which families may submit to their insurance company for out-of-network reimbursement according to their plan. Because coverage varies by plan, I recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to ask about your speech-language therapy benefits and reimbursement process.

  • Therapy frequency depends on your child’s individual needs, goals, and recommended plan of care. Many children are seen 1–2 times per week, while others may benefit from a different schedule. After the initial evaluation, I’ll recommend a therapy plan that best supports your child’s progress and fits your family’s needs.

  • Getting started begins with a complimentary consultation. I’ll talk with you about your concerns, answer your questions, and help determine the best next step for your child.
